Independent
Verification and Validation
Smyth Consulting,
Inc. conducts Independent Verification and Validation (IVV) processes
as an independent, unbiased third party. With experience on many
projects across the full development life cycle, we bring a wealth
of practical and technical knowledge to these evaluation and assessment
efforts. Typically, IVV efforts are performed after the creation
or implementation of the element in question. Moreover, they prove
to be extremely beneficial when performed as part of the ongoing
quality assurance of the project. When utilized in this manner,
issues and concerns can be uncovered long before being exposed to
the light of implementation. While the specific nature of the verification
and validation will vary based on the element under consideration,
the essential objectives of these tasks are to assess:
1.
Objectives:
Have the objectives
been clearly stated, understood, and met by the element in question?
2.
Performance expectations:
What is being
asked or committed? Are the expectations defined in a measurable
way? Does the ability to deliver the expected performance exist?
3.
Human factors/ergometrics:
Does the system
(design or actual interface) meet the needs of the users with proper
flow and coordination between functions, minimizing redundancy at
any point and ensuring quality of service?
