Testing
and Evaluation
Within the "component
building block" methodology of Smyth Consulting, Inc., the
development of test specifications and scenario generation is a
critical and ongoing aspect in the overall development of a quality
computer system. Because we understand the importance of effective
testing and incorporate it into all aspects of our methodology,
much of the required data for creating the use and test cases is
already available. Typically, this allows for more effective planning
at each level of testing and helps to improve the reliability of
the testing.
Smyth Consulting,
Inc. ensures that the end users are active participants across the
testing spectrum, and that both positive and negative test scenarios
exist. Rather than hindering the process, the participation of end
users actually improves testing because they understand the how,
what, and why of the testing. This joint style of testing is the
best possible guarantee that the project objectives are being met
while furthering the buy-in and commitment to the system by the
end users. The use of negative scenarios assist with minimizing
any surprises during implementation and initial usage.
